About Our Club

Our club is a creative and film-making community at APIIT, dedicated to nurturing storytelling, visual creativity, and technical skills in filmmaking. The club provides a platform for students who are passionate about film, media production, directing, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, and sound design to explore their talents and collaborate on creative projects.

Recently, the club successfully launched “Kagura”, a short film festival that showcased original student productions and celebrated creative excellence within the university. The event brought together filmmakers, audiences, and industry enthusiasts, marking an important milestone for the club and reinforcing its commitment to promoting film culture at APIIT.

Annual Club Camp & Team Bonding Day

The Annual Club Camp was a memorable experience that brought all members together for a day filled with teamwork, learning, and fun. Activities included team-building games, leadership sessions, and open discussions that strengthened friendships within the club.

National Hackathon 2025 – First Place Victory

Our club proudly secured first place at the National Hackathon 2025, competing against teams from universities across the country. The winning project focused on developing a practical and innovative solution to a real-world problem using modern technologies.

This achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and technical skills of our members, as well as the strong culture of innovation within the club. The victory has motivated us to continue pushing boundaries and representing our university at a national level.

Kehan Jayasekara

President

The President is responsible for leading the club, overseeing all activities, and ensuring that the club’s vision and objectives are achieved. They coordinate with committee members, represent the club at official events, and guide the team in organizing successful programs throughout the academic year.

Kavinda Jayasinghe

Secretary

The Secretary manages official documentation, meeting records, and internal communication within the club. They play a key role in coordinating events, maintaining member records, and ensuring smooth communication between the executive committee and club members.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for managing the club’s finances, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting. They ensure transparency in financial matters and work closely with the committee to support events and activities within the allocated budget.
