Situated on an undulating windswept plateau at 2,100 to 2,300 meters altitude, Horton Plains is covered by dwarf montane cloud forests and wet patana grasslands. The iconic 9.5 km circular trail leads hikers to World's End—a staggering vertical precipice that drops 884 meters straight down to the southern tea plantations below.

The circular hike also takes you to Mini World's End (274m drop), the roaring 20-meter Baker's Falls framed by pink rhododendrons and giant tree ferns, and Chimmini Pool where herds of wild Sri Lankan Sambar deer gather to graze.
