Iconic Landmark
Galle Lighthouse & Point Utrecht Bastion
Standing tall on the southeastern bastion of Galle Fort, the 26.5-meter white cast-iron lighthouse is Sri Lanka's oldest light station. Framed by tropical palm trees and coral lagoons, it provides one of the most photographed vistas in the country.
Below the lighthouse lies Lighthouse Beach, a calm tidal lagoon where locals and travelers wade into shallow clear waters beneath the ancient fortress walls.
